Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation is delighted to honor Bibiana and Mario Murgado at this year's Donor Next Door Luncheon, hosted by Philanthropy Miami. Bibiana and Mario are longtime supporters of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital who are strong influencers and advocates for the children and families we serve. They have shown amazing leadership in advancing pediatric care in South Florida so that more kids can access the very best healthcare.
Bibiana and Mario are active Diamond Society members and major philanthropists at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation who lead by example, always giving back with their time, energy and financial support. Their support over the past 20 years has impacted patients and families across many areas of the hospital, including psychiatry, pulmonology, LifeFlight®, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, children’s experiences, and the hospital’s greatest needs. On a local and national level, they have been recognized for their philanthropic support to Nicklaus Children’s and 40 additional organizations in the community.
Mario served on the Nicklaus Children’s Health System board of directors for over a decade, most recently as board chairman until 2022. As board chairman, Mario guided the organization’s executive team to seek new and innovative ways to increase market share and brand awareness, all while never losing focus on the patient experience. With decades of for-profit business experience, Mario helped to successfully guide the organization in an executive restructuring that led to numerous wins for the hospital, all while enduring an unprecedented global pandemic. He has even taken the time to provide motivational words to frontline staff and physicians to emphasize that he is always there to support their daily work and passion to serve.
Bibiana and Mario continue to be a guiding force for children and families in South Florida and beyond. Nicklaus Children’s is eternally grateful for their remarkable support and friendship through the years. This power couple truly embodies what it means to be champions for children.
